We're not building a brand. We're building a way of living.
Before this, we were two people with an ordinary life, in a world that never slowed down. One day we decided to change it.
When we got together, we found out we wanted the same thing: to travel. The van that Hernán had already started building turned into a project for both of us. That's where the road began.
We kept dreaming and we kept building, and that dream became RUTA2 — a road the two of us put together.

Why coffee, and why this way
We didn't start with just any product. We started with something that was already part of our life, something we drink every single day.
We chose coffee because we could trace it all the way back to where it grew: the farm, the person who grew it, how it was made. That traceability is the standard — not the coffee itself. Other products will come later, and they'll start the same way: something we already live with, something whose origin we can show you.
Our relationship with the people who grow it
Behind every bag there's a name, not a country. Edy Martínez learned to grow coffee as an adult, after being taught something else as a girl. Ruberto Martínez carries on his family's tradition at El Placer, alongside his wife and their three children. The Santa Marta community lot is what twenty-five small farms produce together.

The coffee reaches us through our partner Arango Specialty Coffee. We don't buy it straight from the farm, but we do know who grew it and the story behind it, and we pass that on to you.
We don't manufacture anything. We choose. And we choose by the same standard we chose this life by: you should know where something comes from, how it was made and who made it.
Today it's coffee. Tomorrow it'll be other things. The standard doesn't change.
